Discipleship

Jesus directs His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 to go out and make disciples of men. Discipleship is simply teaching believers about Jesus Christ and his teachings. At Claxton First United Methodist Church, we offer many opportunities to grow and mature in faith through our various discipleship opportunities.

Sunday School

Every Sunday at 10:00 our Sunday School classes meet to provide small group Bible study. Sunday School is a perfect opportunity to learn more about Jesus Christ and to be discipled. Check out a list and descriptions of our Sunday School classes.

Small Group Studies

Opportunities for Bible Study in a small group setting on various days are held at the Church and in the homes of members. Whether you're unable to attend Sunday school, or you're interested in a particular Bible study group, these small groups offer focused studies in several areas. Contact our Church office to ask for available groups, times, and meeting places.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study

During the school year, our pastor teaches from the Bible every Wednesday evening. Wednesday night supper is served at 6:00, and Bible study follows. This is a great opportunity to be taught from the Bible by our pastor in a relaxed setting that allows for questions and answers. Everyone is welcome, but if you plan to attend, please let the Church office know by Tuesday at noon so that enough food can be prepared.
